While most children were chalking hopscotch squares on asphalt, Lisa Kawski was using her colored chalk to create floor plans and furniture layouts within them. Her love of design eventually led her to earn a BFA in Interior Design from Rochester Institute of Technology. After college, Lisa focused on corporate design for ten years. As a space planner and later an interior design manager, she provided interior design services for large corporations, offices, restaurants, and hotels.
While raising three children, she founded her interior design company in 2002. Her transition from corporate design to a specialty in residential design was influenced by her years of living in a series of different styles of homes. Her living space becomes a canvas for her craft as a designer. In each of her residences, Lisa has been able to design the spaces to suit her family's needs. She enjoys doing the same for her many clients.
Lisa now incorporates green design principles in her work. This includes specifying non-toxic (or less toxic) interior materials and using recycled and sustainable materials and products. Using environmentally-friendly design practices allows her to create healthy, beautiful environments for her clients.
